Goodbye dear and faithful friend, my Speccy Boy. I promise that you will hear my special whistle for you again. Know that your legacy will carry on, through your children, and their progeny.
Thank you for the 15 plus years that we shared, the pride of posing with you for pictures of your awards, the numerous pheasants that you willingly brought back to hand and most of all your complete devotion.
I will never forget you, your powerful and caring face, gray with age. Your exceedingly ground-covering gait when you flew at the end of my lead. This time I unclasped the clip and set you free, the most magnificent gift that I can give back to you.. Rest in peace, my loving companion, until you hear my special whistle again.

To Spec's credit, he has earned an All-Breed Best in Show, Multiple Group and Group Placements, Multiple Best of Breed awards, and multiple Specialty Best of Breed awards. He is the sire of the 2007 National Specialty Best of Breed Winner and the Winners Bitch and Best of Winners. Additionally, he sired the 2004 National Best in Futurity Winner. To present, Spec has sired 14 Champions and 4 Junior Hunters from only three litters. Many of Spec's get and grand- get have received National recognition.
